I have heard that motorized vehicles are ban during Kumbh mela. Is this true?
Yes, Motorized vehicles are ban during main bathing dates. It will be next to impossible to drive in the chaos. Apart from bathing dates, there is no such restriction but be prepared to walk within 1 kms radius of Sangam.
Do I have to book my train tickets in Advance? Can you do that for us? What are the additional service charges?
Yes, Its recommended to book your travel / train tickets in advance (Even same will be applicable for taxi). This is most recommended as the inflow of travelers traveling to Kumbh Mela would be more than the available resources. You may yourself process your train ticket booking by visiting www.irctc.co.in or you can ask our support desk to extend support.
We do not charge any extra amount for train ticket booking but this services is only available to our guest who has either booked Kumbh Mela accommodation or Kumbh Mela tour packages with us.
Can you arrange a meet or arrival transfer at Allahabad Station / Bus Stand?
We can arrange arrival transfer from Allahabad Station and bus stand. Our drivers will be there with your name card to extend the support. This service is available in additional charge of INR 600 per Vehicle per way. (One vehicle can accommodate 04 pax)
Why are you serving food without Onion and Garlic? Can’t we eat something better and try some other cuisine during our stay?
We strictly serve food without Onion and Garlic. A complete Satvik healthy and hygienic food will be served. You are traveling to Kumbh Mela - One of the most important religious festival and we abide by rules and to maintain the atmosphere of Kumbh. Also alcohols and other Non – veg food are not available at Allahabad during Kumbh Mela.
What is difference between your camps?
The only difference between our camps is their size and amenities. Apart from that nothing is different. We are creating a hub for photographers, journalist and foreign travelers. Do your camps have attached toilet facilities? Does your camp has heating system?
None of our camps has attached toilet facilities. Our camp is based on eco tourism – and offering attached toilet facilities will force us to chemical. Therefore do not expect having attached toilet facilities with us.
No, Our camps doesn’t have room heating system.
Can you give us the Map and Camp location at present?
At present we can’t give you maps to Campsite. During the month of Nov / Dec 2012, we shall be sending service voucher along with Map and contact number of Camp Manager at Allahabad.
Our camp will be located within 1 – 1.5 kms within the range of Kumbh Mela venue.
Do I have to book guides in advance or are they readily available?
Guides are available at our Camp. You may opt to book the one day walking trip of Kumbh Mela in advance. This is best advised to hassle free way of exploring Kumbh.
To book the guides on arrival, you should inform our office / camp manager one day ahead. Depends upon availability.
Do I have to have photographers pass to click the procession? How do I get the same?
Its good to have photographers pass to click without any hassle. We can extend support for the same. This support will be extended to guest staying with us and will be charged small fixing fee. You can contact us for further information.
Do we get to have a booklet stating what all is going to happen on what date and what time during Kumbh Mela 2013?
This is tough. We can’t furnish you the same because of diversity of things happening around. You may contact our camp manager or Roshan Raj at Camp for further information / details. They will extend support and information. This is best way to explore surrounding. Or once you are in Allahabad, you may visit Mela Adhikari Office and try your luck.
