The Kumbh Mela is held every three year in each four different locations returning to each of four different location in every twelve year. The twelve year Kumbh mela is said to be Maha Kumbh Mela.

Nasik ( in Maharastra) on the bank of Godavari River

Kumbh Mela an unique events blends religious and cultural features alike. With the entire atmosphere saturated with chiming of bells, incense and flower fragrance, vedic hymns, mantras, beating of drums on horses, camels and elephants during the processions of naked sadhus from different akharas in their gold and silver chariots pulled by devotees, as they show their strength and skills with pure enchantment for the soul. Such combination of devotion and religion cant be watched at one place other than in KUMBH MELA.

This year Kumbh Mela 2010 is going to be held on Haridwar in the foothills of Himalayas. Haridwar is an ancient holy city of India, one of the seven holiest places to Hindus.
